Note: JPTR FX pedals are from Wilhelmshaven Germany, and feature a gnarly modern industrial design with some actual scratches, scrapes, and scuffs, for that recycled metal look and feel. Hence their phrase... UGLIEST SOUND DEVICES!

The JPTR FX Kaleidoscope multi-reflector reverb pedal is made for the kind of earth-dweller who loves to drench their chords in ambient infinitude, drown their fuzzes in a ceramic cave, or just subtly coat their rhythmic playing in a liquid swirl of overtones. If that sounds good to you, then the Kaleidoscope is the exact reverb pedal that you’ve been searching for.

With a medley of reflective possibilities at each turn of a knob, Kaleidoscope is a breath of fresh air to the end of any guitar pedal chain. In fact, the only downside might be that your signal chain may never sound as exciting when it's turned off!

This isn't just any ordinary big reverb in a pedal. Like its optical namesake, the Kaleidoscope reflects your signal, be it once or more, each duplicate meshing together harmoniously while adding compression, modulation, and copious amounts of feedback frenzy to your signal.

A guitar pedal’s musicality is fundamental at JPTR FX. So, whether you use the pedal with your guitar, bass, drums, synth, or even vocals to further explore the cavernous and layered reflective depths within, the Kaleidoscope was designed to complement and adapt to all manner of musical styles and input signals.

MAIN FEATURES:

  • Textural Reverbs - from subtle spring-like tones, to vast ambient soundscapes, and anywhere in between.
  • Compression Dial - add everything from subtle presence, to walls of distorted reverb.
  • Hold Switch - momentarily increases reverb feedback, for sustaining ethereal textures.
  • Kill-Dry Switch - instantly disappear into a pool of ambience by removing your dry signal with a single press.
  • True Bypass - your signal maintains original strength and is untouched when the pedal is off.

Roll back the reverb and dime the feedback control for lush, rhythmic wobbles that twist and gyrate along to your sound-beds, or turn everything up for a saturated, sustained sound. The Compression Dial comes right after the reverb, which really helps push your tails... as the reverb fades out, the compression pulls it back up, helping to elevate your seat in the mix. At the same time, 3 separate control stages offer you instant shifts in depth, texture and oscillation, ranging from the warm and haunting cloudscapes that we have come to love, to an all-wet, crispy whisper, with the help of the designated Kill-Dry Switch.

Plus, if the mood strikes, push and hold the Momentary Switch at the heart of the Kaleidoscope's enclosure to extend your drones into perpetuity.

Was I Ever Proved Wrong
Format: Kindle
I'll admit it — going in, I was skeptical. How could normal-speed villains possibly threaten someone like Wally West, a teenager gifted with powers that let him run at supersonic, even near-light speeds? How could Captain Cold, Captain Boomerang, or the Trickster be anything more than a brief blur in his rearview mirror? But Absolute Flash #1 masterfully convinced me. This issue doesn’t just showcase raw speed; it explores naïveté, inexperience, and the hidden mental limits that come with sudden, godlike power. Wally, only 15, isn’t just fighting external foes — he’s grappling with his own inexperience with the Speed Force. The creative team understands that raw velocity without control or understanding is a recipe for chaos, not invincibility. What really impressed me is how the narrative balances the fantastical with the believable. We watch Wally fumble through situations where, logically, he should dominate, but his youth, overconfidence, or lack of finesse opens the door for “normal” villains to challenge him. It’s not just a fight of feet — it’s a fight of wits, adaptation, and personal growth. And here’s the kicker for me personally: > Just as Wally West is learning to harness the sheer, overwhelming power of the Speed Force, I’m learning to harness the overwhelming power of AI, especially ChatGPT. Every breakthrough Wally experiences — every stumble, every moment of awe at his own potential — mirrors my own journey of mastering this technology. We’re both standing at the edge of something massive, something world-changing, and learning how to rise to the challenge. I can’t wait to see where Absolute Flash takes Wally next. What happens when a boy learns to truly master unstoppable power? And more provocatively: how will the world react when it realizes it can no longer defeat him? This isn’t just a superhero comic — it’s a metaphor for anyone grappling with newfound potential. Absolute buy. Absolute 5 stars.

Good Start for X-men from the Ashes
Format: Kindle
The art is different than previous issues and takes a little getting used to, but overall above par. With comics, it’s always about the art first, the writing second. The dialogue pops for the most part. And the characters make sense. I rather like the scenes between Cyke and Logan, Hank and Cyke, and Magneto. Also it makes sense that after being tortured and put through hell - Cyclops would retreat to his birthplace, Alaska, and take the mutants who can’t blend in with humans, or are ostracized with him. The team up works for me - we have people who are deadly, former assassins and villains, which again works well with Cyclops, a character who believes in second chances. Only quibble - is the villains feel kind of stale? I was never a fan of the U-Men. But I’ll give it a chance, the rest is working for me so far.
